  1. It’s articles like this that lead to people talking about the death of blogs. This is a pure SEO play, fine. I get it. But at least keep the content accurate so that unknowing readers will not be damaged after reading your article.

    What’s wrong?
    1. Website specification – Your points do not a specification, even ones written decades ago. And even if it were, this is 2013. Dive into user stories and BEGIN by thinking about the IA and UX, wireframing and prototyping. Writing specs is a thing of 1987.

    2. Requirement Gathering – see #1.

    3. Process Understanding and Planning – see #1 and then have a chat with the person who’s paying for this website and explain to them why their budget is 3x because you’re in charge and doing thing in a most inefficient manner.

    4. UI Design – Why assume that Responsive = good UI design? Really bad, generic (read: buzz word-laden) advice.

    5. UX – Good luck building a website where you start thinking about UX all the way down here.

    6. Development – 8 seconds. Who told you that? Where are the tests you ran? Conversion has very little to do with development as it does, firstly, with UX design, messaging and a sound marketing campaign that targets the right kinds of visitors.

Templates? Why would I want to imagine that my online business is built off a template that looks and feels like the rest of the sites and inferior competition?

You broke this section out in a very Waterfall routine. This is not how good software is written.

There is more but let’s pause. You get the point.

Oh, and the kicker?… viteb.com … doesn’t get any more cookie cutter than this. Sad.
