Adobe Illustrator can be a little tricky to get your hands around, particularly after getting used to the workflow of applications like Photoshop. The differences between layer use and the creation of objects and shapes can be really strange at first hand.
In the following steps you will learn how to create a Detailed Vector Iron in Adobe Illustrator. This tutorial uses many different vector techniques including the Appearance Panel, Transparency Settings, Clipping Mask and some simple effects (Gaussian Blur, Glass…).
Let’s get started!

Create shapes and fill them with the linear gradient as shown below.
Select the white shape and duplicate (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+F) it once time. Fill the copy with None and add a 1px stroke (60% black). Select two anchor points highlight with yellow and then click on the "Cut path at selected archor points" button from the Properties bar. Next remove the top part. Reselect the remaining shape and set the Profile section is Width Profile 1.
Pick the Ellipse tool (L) and use this tool to create a red shape as shown in the first image. Next fill the newly created shape with the linear gradient.
Continue create a red shape as shown below. Next fill this shape with the radial gradient and add a 0.5px stroke (80% black). Finally go to the Stroke palette and select Width Profile 2 in the Profile section.
