Colors carry a lot of emotions in themselves; each color represents some mood and changes its nature when used in any combination with other colors. So a lot depends upon colors which take a pivot role when it comes to designing a website too because the nature of a website is reflected through colors, say a dark background may give a bold appearance and a light background may suit for a professional site etc.
There a lot of color combination that can be used in designing a site but not as easy as it sounds because there a million of combination with colors and pairing the right one may become a tough task. One of the biggest eye openers for me in design school was learning that there were color palettes available…no more guessing what was going to look good when paired together. All these tools are great.

nice impressive colors
Being a photographer I’m a bit of a colour palette junkie. Kuler I use all the time and I like ColorLovers too. I didn’t know about PhotoCopa on the ColorLovers site so I’m about to ‘waste’ the next few hours testing it out :)

Can any of these be used on my WordPress website? I need a solution so members can choose an image theme, then choose the colors for that image theme. Then attach it to a posting, or a contact form.
This one is a little off the beaten path making it fun for inspiration. This little script for Photoshop generates random associations for you to explore. It creates multi-color gradients, which allow you to explore a little more freely in the “inbetweens” where a lot of interesting color play happens:
