I’m working on a single page site at the moment, what strikes me is that they’re often effectively multi page sites put on the same page with some JavaScript enhancement to move between sections.
Still there’s some good stuff being done with it.

It’s interesting to note that many of those sites give the appearance of a single page but actually use ajaxian techniques to open new content over top or within the same window.

wow great list you got here, those are amazing single page website
A lot of these aren’t what I think of as one page, they have traded layers for pages. Reminds me of one of the biggest drawbacks of poorly implemented Flash sites, you can’t bookmark or share a link to one of the layers.
Still nice looking though.

Wow, absolutely new great ideas.
Though there’s a lot of brilliant ideas, but in my opinion the rubber band is the greatest.
Single page sites can work well. The positives are a natural SEO for the page due to the amount of content. But as soon as you try and rank for multiple phrases, this is where the technique starts to fall apart. So if you have a killer phrase which pays your bills, its amazing, but for the rest of us it can lack.
